Message From The Minister
Spring 2025
Every year as Spring approaches I keep a keen eye out for new growth and rebirth, the new blades of grass, the tiny buds on the trees or the blooming of the first daffodils. I notice the seasonal birds returning and the energy of their song. Each day gets a little longer and the warmth slowly returns to the land.
These are just a few of the little indications that Spring and Summer are almost here. Although the majority of days are still cold and gray, these small indications in the change of the natural world give us hope and assurance of the transformation which is about to occur.
This same awareness can be applied to the changing seasons of our lives as well. When we are coming out of a dark or cold season in our life, there is great comfort in the idea of the impermanence of the material world and all the events occurring in time and space. We can choose to focus on all the little things for which we are grateful, and then they become not so little things at all.
We begin to realize that each and every moment of life is a gift from Spirit and every person we hold dear an angel in human form. When we focus on gratitude and appreciation the bigger picture of life reveals itself and something miraculous happens, we find our power and our peace.
We find our power in the certainty of new growth and we find our peace in surrender to the process unfolding within us. Most of us have experienced many cycles of life already, and some are also aware of their evolution over many lifetimes. The important factor in all of this is that we can trust that good is already here or is on the way.
Experience tells us that the universe is a self-aware, self-balancing, intelligent system of consciousness and energy. We know that everything is always moving and expanding toward greater good. We can call it the love of God or the universe conspiring on our behalf or perhaps the natural flow of nature. Whatever we call it, there is a universal principle in operation at all times for everyone everywhere.
And if the second principle of Unity holds true, that principle of inherent goodness is also in us. As the song say’s, “Love is what you’re made of.” And this is where we find our peace, knowing we are made of love itself, born with all the divine attributes and qualities we see in Jesus. The only difference being how we choose to see ourselves.
So in this season of rebirth and resurrection, let pay attention to all the ways, large and small, in which Spirit is speaking to our souls. Let us be mindful of the inner growth and the assurance of the eventual manifestation of spiritual substance in the form which will support our highest good. And, may we remember that the Universe never stops, never fails, never opposes itself.
The love and joy, which is now merely a seed or a sprout will soon bloom into a glorious explosion of life, in all its many colors and experiences. We know all will be well because it always has, spring will come, even after the longest of winters. Spring will come to our hearts as well, even after the harshest of challenges to the human spirit. Once we pay attention to all ways we are blessed and loved, we might even realize Spring is already here.
Be blessed and be a blessing my friends,
Rev. Tony
