Here at Unity, we have created an interactive dialogue with the Five Principles that are the basis of our Unity beliefs. We meet for four hours, enjoy good food and company. We review a little history of the New Thought movement, take a deeper look at the five principles, ponder and share how we are encountering each of the principles right now in our lives.
Our experience is based on the book by Ellen Debenport called, The Five Principles, which is available for sale in the bookstore.
This experience is for everyone, from those of us who have been coming for years and for the very new who want to know more about what we believe. It also meets the requirements for becoming a voting member of Unity on Cape Cod.
I hope many of you join Rev. Tony, Charlie Worrick and Kathy Smith-Brown for this amazing encounter with the fundamental principles of Unity. It has been a wonderful experience for us who have attended in the past.
Right now, and for the next few weeks, we would like to know who is interested in attending. Our helpers will pass around clipboards for you to sign up and choose your preferred dates. We will contact each of you to find out the best times for you, Saturday morning, October 19, 9-1 and/or Monday evening, October 21, 5-9pm.
A COMEDY CONCERT WITH GREG TAMBLYN
Get a healthy dose of conscious comic relief! Enjoy an [afternoon / evening] of hilarious, heartfelt musical musings and mindful mischief. Greg’s songs and stories help us celebrate the best in ourselves, and laugh at the rest of ourselves. They’re like
WD-40 for our relationships, our moments of confusion, the things we want to accomplish in life, and our connection to the Big Mystery. They impart empowering life messages and spiritual insights through the right-brain doorway of music and laughter.
Take a musical joyride into Mystery and Mirth, the Profound and the Absurd, the Weird and the Wonderful, the Psychological and the Spiritual, the Sacred and the Silly. It’s “Ha Ha” with an “Aha!”
“A Brief Mystery of God”
Guest speaker Greg Tamblyn weaves together a sacred lesson experience with funny, award-wining songs, stories, a meditation, and powerful group meditation music. Congregants get filled up with a healthy dose of music and laughter, plus a profound experience of the Sacred. Join us for love and laughter.
THE SACRED AND THE SILLY
Mystics, prophets, saints and psychologists have all told us that happiness lies in the NOW. Many of us in the West have forgotten where that is. Silliness and humor are profound ways to get there.
A BRIEF MYSTERY OF GOD
The healthiest and most helpful attitude to life’s unanswerable questions and big mysteries is what the best mystics and scientists have in common: a sense of wonder and a sense of humor.
Many of us have a GPS in our phone to help us get where we’re going.
Wouldn’t it be cool to have the same thing for our lives?
Wouldn’t it be even cooler if it told us where we need to go?
Good news: we’ve already got one. It’s standard equipment.
SOULMATES OR CELLMATES?
Even the best relationships usually involve several pit-stops at the AFGO Station. (Another Friendly Growth Opportunity.) Getting our needs met requires knowing what those needs are (now there’s a shock!) and my favorite helpful tools.
WHAT’S YOUR STORY?
Stories are the most powerful communication tool we have. The story of Jesus, for example, contains elements that make it both inspirational and lasting. A new story – Boy In A Bag – will stay with you long after you hear it, and inspire you to hear the
better angels of your nature.
Laughterjam Humor Workshop
Join us after service for this joyful and inspiring workshop.
Three Easy Ways to Inject More Fun, Humor, and Laughter Into Every Day!
Humorist/songwriter Greg Tamblyn shares his top techniques for enjoying more fun and laughter on a daily basis without alienating co-workers, friends, family or your dentist. You’ll explore and expand the humorous corners of your own personal brain, raise your
humor antenna (and learn how to keep it extended even during stressful times), and master Greg’s favorite simple way to have more fun with friends and strangers all day long. You’ll even get to make an entire roomful of folks laugh by telling at least one great joke. (We promise!) It’s three solid hours of fun and foolishness that you can take back to ‘real life’ and put to good use.
Even if you don’t feel ‘qualified’ to make yourself and others laugh, we guarantee this workshop is for you! With these techniques, anyone can learn to laugh more and be funnier. Also to handle the perils of work, retirement, school, and social occasions (think:
Thanksgiving with your in-laws) with greater buoyancy, poise and aplomb.
Please bring pen and paper for note taking. We’ll be turning off our devices.
