The messages we tell ourselves on a deep internal level determine every aspect of how we experience ourselves and the world around us. What words do you use to describe yourself on a daily basis. Where do those ideas come from, and can we tell ourselves a more accurate story of who we are? When Jesus asked Peter, “Who do you say that I am?” Peter responded, “You are the Christ, son of the living God.” When we look in the mirror, we can also speak those same kind of words to ourselves… “You are the Christ, an extension of Eternal Love Itself.” Why not give it a try? It’s the truth! There is real power in affirming the truth about ourselves.
Oneness is the most important truth and deepest experience a human being can have. The realization that we are all one spirit can be considered the cornerstone of enlightenment. The awareness of oneness is also taught as the other name for the Kingdom of Heaven. Not surprisingly, another name for oneness is “Unity.” There is a saying in the Bahai faith which speaks to this… “So powerful is the light of unity that it can illuminate the whole earth.”
