A Course in Miracles says, “Teach only Love for that is what you are.” However, I may have a very different opinion of myself, one that includes fear or shame. I might also be in the mode of blame and complain. If I have these thoughts about myself and others, no matter how cleverly veiled and hidden, that is what I will project upon my world. If we are to love our neighbors as ourselves, then it becomes clear, we must love ourselves first. The truth is, we will always teach that which we experience ourselves to be.

It has become clear to me that Humankind has come to a crossroads of existence. not unlike the turning point in the evolution of our species we faced in the times of Jesus. Some thought he would bring about a sociopolitical or even an armed revolution to overcome the hardships and oppression of his time. What he brought us instead was the evolution of our consciousness. Look around you today, and take note of the change we are all longing for, and remember it cannot come about by looking outside for the answer. The real revolution is still found in the evolution of our consciousness.
When you take an honest look at your life and your mind, are you acting on your spiritual knowledge, or are you sill allowing the world to tell you who you are? One of the most important questions you can ask yourself is… “Am I Evolving?”
Am I following the guidance of Spirit and Truth, or do I allow my fears, concerns and superficial occurrences to dictate my experience of life? If I look back over the last year or five years, have I put into action the vision of my heart, and if not, am I willing to start again today?
We have been talking a lot lately about the evolution of human consciousness, and the necessity of this evolution as the most immediate need of humankind. In Unity as in many spiritual traditions, the importance placed in the power of thought is a primary focus. If the third principle of Unity holds true, “We create our experience by the activity of our thinking;” it becomes obvious a new kind of thinking must emerge for human beings to experience their true spiritual nature and make manifest a world that reflects the laws of love.
