The coming of the Christ into the world can be seen as the coming of enlightened awareness into our minds. This is the advent of the awakening of human consciousness. We are preparing the way for the coming of the light through standing in our faith and practicing our peace. Peace to all who seek to reach the light in them, for they will be illumined by the Christ spirit within, born again into everlasting awareness of God’s love. Let us prepare the way of illumination by turning our focus to the peace that surpasses our limited understanding.
Joining us for our Sunday service will be members of our youth program, presenting: The Sparks Christmas Pageant.
Celebrating The Birth of the Christ In Us.
Please join us for our Christmas celebration service as we celebrate the birth of the Christ in us. The second principle of Unity points to the inherent divinity of every human being, the spark of Christ light which resides at the center of our being. This Christmas season we are joining together to help one another nurture this process of remembering who we really are. As the spark of divinity grows within our hearts and minds, we bear witness to a powerfully transformed world through the awakening of the Christ consciousness within us.
(This will be our only service this Christmas, please invite your family to attend… We will also be joined by the Unity Christmas Choir, rehearsal is at 11:00 AM. in the sanctuary on Saturday morning December 23rd.)
This is the time of year when many of us make a decision to let go of what no longer serves us and embrace a new direction, or a new approach to life, in hopes of creating a better future. Being in the present moment is the prescription of most spiritual teachers as the way to accomplish this. Join us this Sunday as we let go of the past and let Spirit show us what is available in the here and now.
This week we will enter into the experience of the Beatitudes of Jesus.
The sermon on the mount, found in Matt:5, begins with what is commonly known as The Beatitudes. Reported to be the first public teaching from Jesus, this discourse is more like a journey of the soul, always calling us to go deeper and express more of the Christ in us. Expressed as inner intentions, as well as outer expressions, this is where our mystical journey with the master begins.
Service will be followed with a Beatitudes workshop with interfaith minister,
Rev. Laura Derr … All are welcome ! Offered on A Love Offering Basis.
Every faith, every religion and every spiritual path in the world has at its core, a message that was born out of the Universal experience, experiences so powerful and palpable they cannot be ignored by Humankind. The basis of all religious and spiritual endeavor is not only to get in touch with the divine, but to share, in some meaningful way the fruits of our experience with others. A Course in Miracles says, “A Universal Theology is Impossible, but a Universal Experience is not only possible, but necessary.” We see it as necessary to bring the individual and the world into spiritual recognition, and thereby heal our sense of separation from each other and from God.

There might be a lot more to the statement, “Go with the flow” than we realize. As we let go of the past, we begin to feel the ever-present flow of good in our lives. The more we allow our minds to be purged of limiting thoughts and beliefs the more we we are immersed in the living waters of spiritual truth. John 7:38 says, “He who believes in me… from his inmost being will flow rivers of living water.” Believing in the Christ within us is a necessary step in bringing forth all that is good into our world. There is no better time than now to become immersed in the flow of the “Living Waters” of our own divine reality.
We have embarked on a spiritual path, sometimes in excitement and wonder, and other times with uncertainty, or perhaps even fear. But as we have come to learn; false evidence cannot appear real to those who have put their faith in God. The journey of Spirit is one which we are led by divine law and certainty of purpose.
Nothing can hold us back on our journey, unless we give it the power to do so. Now we can say, “Truth is my guide, my path is clear and the way is open to me at last.”
Whenever we find ourselves blaming others, blaming society, blaming the government, blaming the devil, or even blaming God for the way we are feeling, we are giving away our power. Perhaps it is time to reclaim our inherent power and glory by the act of taking responsibility for our thoughts, our feelings, our experiences and our lives. One of the most empowering questions you can ask yourself is… “Who is in charge of my life?”
While thoughts of lack or limitation occupy our minds, we have no room to receive the prosperity that is our birthright. Jesus told us to “Fear not, for it is the Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.” (Luke 12:32) This is the first step in our teaching, to release our minds from fear and cleanse our emotional field through forgiveness. In this way we are making room for our abundance to flow to us and through us.
